Take a closer look at the structure and movement potential of the shoulders and wrists, and learn movement and alignment strategies for both on and off the yoga mat to encourage the long-term health of these areas of the body. We’ll cover strategies for reducing shoulder and wrist injuries in yoga, and ways to optimize your yoga practice for increased shoulder and wrist strength and function. This workshop will consist of part anatomy/biomechanics lecture and part yoga practice. All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome!

Learn yoga and movement strategies for increasing the strength, health, and resiliency of your hips and spine in this all-levels workshop. Taught from a foundation of anatomy and biomechanics, we’ll take a closer look at how these areas of the body move and interrelate for an increased sense of embodiment and control. We’ll also cover some movement and alignment tips for both on and off the yoga mat that will encourage long-term tissue health and the possibility of pain reduction in these areas. This workshop will consist of part lecture and part yoga practice - feel free to bring a notebook to take notes!

JENNI RAWLINGS is a long-time yoga teacher with 1,000 hours of training in the fields of yoga, anatomy, and biomechanics. She is a certified Yoga Tune Up® teacher, Restorative Exercise Specialist, and Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. She writes regularly for Yoga International and for her own yoga anatomy-based website, and she has also released two yoga DVDs through Real Bodywork. Her most influential yoga teachers include Jules Mitchell, Jennifer Pilotti, and Emily Benaron. She currently teaches yoga classes and workshops regularly online. jennirawlings.com
