Step into a classic yoga sequence that methodically works the entire body leaving you feeling refreshed, energized and at ease. This authentic yoga sequence allows space for meditative focus. A must for any student of yoga.
Featuring the Ashtanga invocation, Sun A & B Salutations and Primary or Intermediate series of asana (poses) offered with modifications, variations and rest.
This session can allow for lots of movement if desired, however, we take a sustainable approach where rest is encouraged.
This vinyasa (flow) class is led with verbal cues. The instructor will determine which offerings are appropriate for the group so that Ashtanga beginners can develop their practice and continuing students can progress.
Join us in a supportive space to learn Ashtanga yoga. All are welcome to Ashtanga yoga, however some prior experience with yoga may be helpful.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Instructor Tracy Matthias RYT is a long time practitioner of yoga, beginning a formal practice in 2001. Tracy completed her yoga teacher training with Jenny Tumas at Marigold Yoga and has over 1200 teaching hours. Tracy has taken additional workshops with Jenny Tumas, David Swenson, PJ Heffernan, Jules Mitchell and Zoe Mai and enjoys checking out regional Ashtanga studios and classes.
Tracy enjoys teaching and practicing Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Gentle Yoga. Her methodical approach to breath awareness and sequences will leave you feeling refreshed, euphoric and with newfound strength and flexibility. Tracy embraces the Ashtanga sequence - offering custom instruction, modifications and hands-on assists if desired.
Tracy enjoys being an artist of life and a student of nature.
