Mantra: Illuminating Mind, Body, Spirit
Workshop w/ Jenny Tumas

Mantra yoga is a part of Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound. A mantra is a precise combination of sacred syllables from the Sanskrit language that form a nucleus of spiritual energy. Calming and grounding, Sanskrit mantras help unwind and dissolve restrictive patterns in the subtle body, creating space for increased vibrancy and clarity.

This workshop will begin with a short introduction to the Sanskrit alphabet, so that participants will have basic pronunciation of the sounds that form mantra. We will explore mantra as a support and enhancement for seated meditation, Restorative Yoga poses, and Savasana. We will experience mantras traditionally used for specific intentions, such as “removal of obstacles” or protection. For health and well-being, we will explore the healing “Mantra Purusha”, which has many important applications relative to meditation, yoga therapy and Ayurvedic medicine.

This workshop is valuable for anyone with serious interest in yoga asana and meditation, and provides 5 hours CE credits for yoga teachers. You are sure to be in good company with other dedicated yogis.
