Tracy Matthias RYT is a long time practitioner of yoga, beginning a formal practice in 2001. Tracy completed her teacher training with Jenny Tumas and has over 1500 teaching hours. Tracy has taken additional workshops with Jenny Tumas, David Swenson, PJ Heffernan, Jules Mitchell, and Zoe Mai and enjoys checking out regional Ashtanga studios and classes. Tracy is registered with the Yoga Alliance; which sets standards for high-quality instruction and community enrichment through yoga.

Tracy is the owner and primary instructor at Lotus Root Yoga LLC in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Tracy enjoys teaching and practicing Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Gentle Yoga. Her methodical approach to breath awareness and sequences will leave you feeling refreshed, euphoric and with newfound strength and flexibility. Tracy embraces the wisdom of the Ashtanga sequence – offering custom instruction, variations and hands-on assists if desired. Tracy also incorporates Ayurvedic considerations into her sessions.

Jenny Tumas has been teaching yoga since 2001. Since then she has taught nearly 9000 hours of group classes. She completed teacher trainings at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, at Om Yoga Center in New York, and at Bay Area Yoga in Green Bay. She is also certified by Judith Lasater as a Relax & Renew trainer in Restorative Yoga and completed a 10-day intensive Yin/Yang Yoga training course with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers. Registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 and YACEP (provider of CE), she has led 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, shorter trainings, workshops, and retreats. She owned her studio, Marigold Yoga, for almost ten years.

Jenny has studied extensively with Kathleen Kelly, Michael Stone and Zoe Mai. She has also studied with Cyndi Lee, Jill Miller, Emilie Conrad, Surya Little, and Jules Mitchell. Jenny is a Reiki Master teacher and teaches Sanskrit 1 & 2 courses for the American Sanskrit Institute.

She offers students practices which blend traditional yoga forms, such as Ashtanga, with contemporary forms and novel approaches based on current and evolving understandings of biomechanics and options for individual bodies. Her classes blend elements of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga—with a focus on the breath and making yoga accessible to everyone.

The retreat center’s name translates as “love from the ancient forest.” It is nestled in an oasis of native plants and fruit trees, nourished by a magnificent waterfall in the Sacred Valley of Peru. This lovely spot is in the Andes Mountains and home of the twelve mountains known as Apus—“luminous beings.” Those who come to the center have the opportunity to commune directly with these mountains, as well as with the local curanderos and pacos (healers), who engage with us for ritual and Despacho ceremony.

The guests at this center enjoy delicious meals with locally-grown and lovingly-prepared ingredients. Each guest room is a reflection of the Peruvian culture of the Sacred Valley. The entire center embodies kindness, love, and wholeness that seem to permeate the magical place.
